Nancy Campbell Hanks, Ed.D., Ph.D., is a California licensed Marital & Family Therapist (#11747) specializing in sex therapy for individual women and their intimate partners. She maintains a private practice in Portland, Oregon, and a limited consultation practice in Sacramento, California. The American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists (www.aasect.org) have certified Dr. Campbell as a Sex Therapist and Clinical Supervisor. For over 25 years, she has assisted hundreds of women and couples in achieving their personal sexual goals and embracing a sex-positive attitude and life.
Education
Dr. Campbell received her original education in the field of human sexuality through an innovative training program sponsored by the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine. In 1985, she completed her doctoral degrees and graduated from the University of San Francisco. Dr. Campbell currently specializes in treating issues directly related to women's sexual and emotional health. As a clinician, she particularly enjoys working with a broad spectrum of individuals and couples who present with a diverse range of sexual problems, preferences, lifestyles and goals.
Professional Interests
Although Dr. Campbell supports community education and life-long learning for all women, she now substantially limits her teaching and consulting activities. Her professional commitment now focuses on a private practice limited to women's sexual health and related issues. As a professional woman who has personally "come of age," Dr. Campbell has particular interest in sexuality and healthy aging; in helping peri- and post-menopausal women extend and preserve their sexual response and sensuality; in coaching pre- and non-orgasmic women in successful self-pleasuring techniques, and in supporting cancer survivors to recover and thrive.

Drawing on 25 years of licensed professional experience, Dr. Campbell offers innovative sexual therapy from a woman's unique perspective. In working with individuals and couples, she integrates and utilizes the latest research and evidence-based strategies in the fields of behavioral medicine, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and clinical sexology. These tools and techniques are applied to the treatment of a complex variety of problems impacting female and couple sexual fulfillment.
